Strut support system with fairing yields less drag. The asymmetric pattern in wind tunnel data is independent of the profile of the main strut. Separated flow from main strut and its interaction with pitch rod brings asymmetry in the data. In comparison with the cylindrical strut, a diamond shaped strut contributed less towards the lift.
