Spin-orbit interaction induced current dip in a single quantum dot coupled to a spin

The present work predicts a current dip due to the spin–orbit interaction in system of a quantum dot coupled to a spin. The dip occurs at the singlet–triplet anticrossing point. In contrast, in a double dot the spin–orbit interaction gives rise to a peak. The work demonstrates that the dip can be tuned with the applied gate voltage that controls the energy offset between the dot and the spin energy level. The work presents an appropriate parameter range (coupling to leads, magnetic field, energy detuning) in which the dip could be probed experimentally.
