Design, fabrication, and characterization of portable gas sensors based on spinel ferrite nanoparticles embedded in organic membranes

H2S gas sensors were fabricated using zinc and copper ferrites nanoparticles. The nanoparticles were synthesized using the co-precipitation technique. Polymer membranes of PVA and ionic liquid were doped with the nanoparticles and used to build the gas sensors. The produced sensors were found to be sensitive and selective to H2S gas. High sensitivity to H2S at low temperatures indicates the low power requirement.
