Strength and workability of magnesium silicate hydrate binder systems were studied. Effect of superplasticizers, MgO/SiO2 ratio and crushed quartz filler is reported. The optimal binary system for strength and workability includes 60% MgO and 40% silica fume. Crushed quartz filler reduces water demand and improves the compressive strength of mortars.
