The relation between specific air pollutants and the risk of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) remains controversial. Strong and robust associations were found between short term exposure to PM2.5, PM10 and O3 and a high risk of OHCA. A policy focus on controlling these air pollutants might reduce the burden of OHCA.
