Curcumin ameliorates liver damage and progression of NASH in NASH-HCC mouse model possibly by modulating HMGB1-NF-κB translocation

NASH-HCC mouse model involves the increased HMGB1 and NF-κB translocation. In this model, oxidative stress and inflammation were significantly increased. It involves the activation of lipogenesis and fibrosis in NASH liver. Curcumin treatment reduced these oxidative stress, inflammation and lipogenesis. Curcumin markedly attenuated fibrosis, HMGB1-NF-κB translocation and its signaling.
