TLR3 plays a central role in the modulation of innate immune responses against viral infections. TLR3 and its polymorphisms play a crucial role in various viral infections of the nervous system. TLR3 activation induces both protective and detrimental responses. Understanding the role of TLR3 in viral CNS infections will be helpful in developing better treatment options.
