Sevoflurane pre-conditioning could attenuate apoptosis of neurons after OGD/R exposure. Pre-treatment with atractyloside (a mPTP opener) and PD98059 (an inhibitor of Erk1/2) reversed the protective effect of sevoflurane. The protection of Sevoflurane pre-conditioning might mediate by mPTP-Erk1/2-HO-1 signal pathway.
