It is unknown if neighbourhood social capital is related to support by neighbours. Chronically ill people who are more connected to neighbours receive more support. Social capital on the neighbourhood level is not related to support by neighbours. Support by neighbours is related to differences in disease characteristics. Individual and neighbourhood social capital do not provide access to the same resources.
