Rates of lymphadenectomy have increased from 2004 to 2012 in patients with UTUC. Increased lymph node yield is associated with improved CSS. Ureteral tumor location is associated with worse OS and CSS. Intentional LND with adequate lymph node yield is important for patients with UTUC undergoing nephroureterectomy. Future studies are needed to understand the mechanism of inferior OS and CSS of ureteral tumors.
