Extracellular vesicles can transport receptors from one cell to the nucleus of other cell. Nuclear receptors transported via extracellular vesicles could bind DNA and modulate gene transcription. This mechanism may contribute to the role of nuclear receptors in prostate cancer progression and resistance to therapy.
