We verified detailedly the deicing capacity of superhydrophobic surfaces in wind and thermal fields. The durability of the anti-icing superhydrophobic surfaces was firstly examined under the continuously icing/deicing cycles. Wind field deicing is an ideal choice as the assistant deicing approach in practical applications of anti-icing superhydrophobic surfaces.
