Effect of a high magnetic field on the microstructure in directionally solidified two-phase Ni3Al alloys

The magnetic field caused CET of dendrites in both Ni-rich and Al-rich Ni3Al alloys. Effect of a high magnetic field on the interdendritic structure was investigated. Interdendritic γ′ phase showed significant difference in two alloys under the field. A new structure with single crystal matrix and equiaxed dendrites was fabricated.
