Transparent KYb2F7:Er3+ glass ceramics were successfully fabricated. Up-conversion of KYb2F7:Er3+ GC is high enhanced compared to that of PG. KYb2F7:Er3+ GC present large energy gap and high relative sensitivity. KYb2F7:Er3+ GC may find application in FIR-based temperature sensors.
