Hydroxyapatite-containing coatings were fabricated on magnesium alloy by MAO. The content of hydroxyapatite increases with increasing the applied voltage. The increase of the applied voltage has no influence on chemical states. Increasing the applied voltage deteriorates the bonding strength. The wear and corrosion resistance is significantly improved by MAO coatings.
