We demonstrate a Q-switched Nd: YAG laser operating at 946 nm using MoS2 as SA. This work represents the first MoS2-based Q-switched laser operating at 0.9 µm region. A simple and compact linear plane-plane cavity was used to obtain short pulse laser. This work indicates MoS2 is an promising Q-switcher for a quasi-three-level laser.
