Comparing methods of modeling air infiltration through building entrances and their impact on building energy simulations

Airflow coefficient for single door infiltration is experimentally verified. Building entrance air infiltration are modeled by four modeling methods currently available. Calculated energy consumption of buildings varies by 60% depending on infiltration models. Conventional methods using pressure factors significantly overestimate pressure difference across doors. New methods using airflow network model provide more realistic results of infiltration and its energy impact.
