We studied one of the largest carbonate hosted oil fields in Iran. We could characterize reservoir formation of the region (Asmari formation) using numerical modeling of geophysical data. We used geological features, geophysical data and well log data to investigate subsurface structures of Gachsaran oil field. This paper illustrates how MT method can provide information about the hydrocarbon bearing structures which cannot be obtained using seismic method.
