Proposal of a new depositional model for the rift section in the Campos Basin. Rocks in the rift are a mixture of clastic, stevensitic and carbonate particles. Massive or weakly laminated, with rare tractive- or wave-induced structures. Tectonically-triggered re-sedimentation, with clastics restricted to border faults. New model opens possibilities for the exploration of Campos and Santos Basins.
