A power law model is proposed to describe the proppant embedment in shale. The power law relation could better fit the experimental data. A new permeability model is developed by incorporating the power law relation. The model can describe permeability change under combined effect of compaction and embedment. The permeability has good performance for hydraulic fracture filled with proppant packs.
