We present a new approach, cost-effective polymer-assisted deposition, to prepare self-assembled epitaxial BaTiO₃-NiFe₂O₄ nanocomposite films on LaAlO₃ substrates. Ferroelectric BaTiO₃ is embedded in the ferrimagnetic spinel NiFe₂O₄ matrix. The composite shows both ferroelectric and ferrimagnetic properties.
