The reaction of HC鈮Ph with Ru{畏<sup>3sup>-C(CN)<sub>2sub>CPhC鈺怌(CN)<sub>2sub>}(PPh<sub>3sub>)Cp (1) affords as one product the metalated [3]dendralene Ru{CPh鈺怌HC[鈺怌(CN)<sub>2sub>]CPh鈺怌(CN)<sub>2sub>}{NC[Ru(PPh<sub>3sub>)<sub>2sub>Cp]}Cp (2), in which a molecule of Ru(CN)(PPh<sub>3sub>)<sub>2sub>Cp is also coordinated via the CN nitrogen to the Ru center, as shown by a single-crystal X-ray structural determination.
