Herein, a rhodium(III)-catalyzed oxidative C鈥揌 activation of simple arylphosphonates and phosphonamides with subsequent coupling with alkenes (olefination), internal alkynes (hydroarylation and oxidative cyclization), or simple arenes to give access to diverse P-containing functional frameworks is reported.
