A new phosphate, Pb₁₂[Li₂(P₂O₇)₂(P₄O₁₃)₂](P₄O₁₃), containing three types of isolated polyphosphate anionic groups [P₂O₇], and two types of [P₄O₁₃] has been successfully synthesized by using Li₂O as dimensional reduction agent to dismantle Pb₃P₄O₁₃. The isolation of [P₂O₇] and two types of [P₄O₁₃] with different symmetries in the title compound mainly benefits from the large number and flexible coordination of the Pb²⁺ cations.
