Under visible-light photoredox conditions, difluoromethyltriphenylphosphonium bromide was used as the precursor of the CF₂H radical for bromodifluoromethylation of alkenes. The presence of catalytic CuBr₂ resulted in the selective formation of the bromodifluoromethylated products.
