BackgroundBudd–Chiari syndrome (BCS) with hepatic vein (HV) occlusion is manifested by severe liver damage in acute cases and esophageal variceal bleeding or refractory ascites in chronic cases, which is difficult to differentiate from cirrhotic portal hypertension.
