The purpose of the qualitative multi-case study was to explore the reasons why K-12 public school teachers are not using computers for instructional purposes. The sample was 20 teachers drawn from the population of licensed general education teachers in a school district located in western United States. The perceptions of teachers within the current study led to the conclusion that the lack of access to computer technology equipment,the need for specialized training in use of computer technology,and teachers' disposition to use technology contributes to the low use of computers for instructional purposes. School administrators may improve the teachers' use of computer technology by providing more in-school preparation time and more specialized training opportunities.
