For decades domestic violence has continued to increase throughout the United States,particularly among African Americans,who experience a 35% higher rate of violence than that of white females,and an approximately 22 % higher rate of women of. other races Rennison & Welchans,2000). In an effort to obtain data regarding the effects of attachment styles with African American males in romantic relationships exposed to domestic violence,this study tested one hypothesis. H1: There will be a significant. difference in attachment styles between the group of men exposed to domestic violence and the group not exposed to domestic violence. A MANOVA test was performed to analyze the data for the one hypothesis. The results did not support the hypothesis.
