United States Air Force Chaplains are often intoxicated by the luring appeal of individual awards, recognition, and promotions leading to increased feelings of competition, unhappiness, and isolation among their peers. The researcher suggests that by learning collaborative principles of successful businesses and companies,AF Chaplains can reduce perceived feelings of competition, isolation and loneliness and increase overall ministry satisfaction. A seminar was presented to USAF Chaplains emphasizing seven essential principles of collaboration needed to develop team based ministries. AF Chaplains were instructed in these essential principles: 1 - Mutual Trust and Respect;2 - Unifying Purpose,Goal,or Vision;3 - High Level of Commitment;4 - Open Communication;5 - Unifying and Collaborative Leader;6 - Team Mentality/Zero Competitiveness;and 7 - Rewarding Collaborative Efforts. As a result of this project,AF Chaplains reported feeling more aware of the principles of collaboration, less competitive among their peers, and more interested in collaborating with one another. Additionally, chaplains also perceived greater feelings of satisfaction in ministry.
