论王安忆小说叙述视角的转换与意义的生成
摘要
叙述视角是作家对形式的选择，但通过叙述视角所传达的意义的生成，却是作家精神理念的显现。本文把叙述视角作为深入研究王安忆小说的新的切入点，从叙事学的立场出发，梳理王安忆二十年创作中复杂的叙述视角和意义转换的脉络，审视其职业化的创作历程的变迁，展示一个作家对主体意识的坚守和超越意识的张扬，力求对王安忆为中国叙事文学理论与实践所做出的贡献给予一个较为公允的评价。
对王安忆小说创作整体脉络的梳理是以限知视角和全知视角的转换为主线的。她由最初限知视角下的自我言说，转向全知视角后的文化批判，到全知视角下的生命本相，多重视角下的命运反思，再到全知视角下的生命寓言等。其间，经历了从个人内心世界走向对生命进行抽象思考的精神探索，继而又回到人类生存的世俗状态的创作观的日益成熟。
视角生成意义。王安忆对小说写作技巧的探索，使叙述视角被作为了一种“有意味的形式”，参与内容意义的直接生成。隐藏在形式背后或超越形式本身的，是作家思维方式和小说观念的根本变化。
视角为意义而存在，以此来理解王安忆小说中视角的转换及其背后的原因。王安忆的小说具有女性文本中独特的母题、结构、情节、象征和语言，在叙述视角的形式背后，隐含着作家的声音和隐喻着主体的自觉。她在视角的转换中实现着自己对创作物质化的追求，通过视角交错转换来阐发自己的写作理想。
视角生成意义，但从既定模式出发的视角的转换也可能导致意义的失落。 王安忆的作品尽管各个时期小说中的主人公具有不同的身份和背景，
但他们都被作者用自身的理性所规定着，成为一种历史在其中处于匿名状态的不自由的人。这种缺少留白的叙事使我们总是无法摆脱作者的意志，在叙事的关键之处，都被作者嵌入了强有力的价值暗示。这样，读者的话语接受过程就变成了单向的过程，其实质也成为了一次意义的消解过程。也就是说，作家在叙述视角上的可贵探索，生成了她追寻的主观意图的绝对空间的意义，但却消耗了小说应有的通往开放和未知之途的相对空间里的意义。这种日益经典化了的追求不可避免地使王安忆的小说叙事陷入了创作困境。
Viewing angle of narration refers to a writer’s selection of literary expression. However, the meaning generated thereof represents spiritual concept of the writer. This thesis takes the viewing angle as a new starting point for further study into Wang Anyi’s novels, and from the descriptive stand, it searches for thread of thought linking complicated viewing angle of narration and conversion of meaning in Wang Anyi’s career of 20 years’ literary creation; examines her professional process of literary creation, exhibits a writer’s holding of subjective consciousness and pursuance for surpassing consciousness; and tries best to provide a fair evaluation on contributions made by Wang Anyi to both theory and practice of literary narration in China.
Searching for complete thread of thought in Wang Anyi’s literary creation of novels is mainly based on conversion between limited knowledge viewing angle and unlimited knowledge viewing angle. She changes from the self statement at the her initial limited knowledge viewing angle to cultural criticism at unlimited knowledge viewing angle, to nature of life at unlimited knowledge viewing angle, to rethinking of fate at multiple viewing angle, and then to a fable story of life at unlimited knowledge viewing angle, during which she has experienced a spiritual search for abstractive thinking from inner world of an individual person to the meaning of human life before returning to increasingly mature outlook on literary creation for worldly status about existence of human beings.
Meaning for generation of viewing angle. Wang Anyi’s search for novel writing technique enables the viewing angle of narration to become a “meaningful pattern”, which participates direct generation of content meaning. Those hides behind or surpasses the form itself are really the fundamental changes of the writer’s thinking pattern and concept of the novel.
Viewing angle exists for meaning, from which we can understand the conversion of viewing angle in Wang Anyi’s novels and its hidden reasons. The unique female theme, structure, plot, representation and language for female theme existing impressively in Wang Anyi’s novels cover the voice of the writer and imply the consciousness of a subject behind the form of viewing angle of narration. She realizes her pursuance for materialization of literary creation in conversion of viewing angle, and expounds her writing ideal through cross conversion of viewing angle.
Concerning meaning for generation of viewing angle, even a conversion of viewing angle at a given mode may cause the meaning to drop. Although the heroes or heroines in Wang Anyi’s novels at different periods may have different status and background, they are stipulated by the writer’s own rationale, and they have therefore become the people in a depressed status without freedom. Facing such a narration without sufficient margin, we cannot get rid of the writer’s will, and at the key points of narration, the writer inserts powerful hints of value. In such a way, the readers’ word receiving process has become one-way process, and its nature has become a significant digestive process. That is to say, the writer’s valuable search on viewing angle of narration has generated her meaning of subjective intention at absolute space
that she has ever pursued. However, this eliminates the meaning of the novel leading to the opening and the unknown tour at the relative space. Such an increasingly traditional pursuance has inevitably trapped the narration in Wang Anyi’s novel into embarrass of literary creation.
